An Unexpected Answer to Prayer
I don't know whose prayer is being answered by Allah.
Is it mine, or someone out there who cares for me?
I'm honestly a little amazed, because I haven't specifically prayed for a new job, but somehow, lately, I feel like I'm suddenly in high demand. So many companies have been inviting me for interviews.
It's kind of weird because usually, when I apply for jobs, only a few companies move forward with the interview process. Meanwhile, right now, I'm just taking things easy and not desperately trying to resign asap, and yet, in this week alone, I've already had interviews with three companies, and I'll be interviewing with the fourth one soon.
Because, to be honest, even though I know what's happening at my current company and that I'm at risk of being laid off, I'm actually quite calm about it.
On one hand, I'm still thinking of waiting a few more months before resigning. Mostly because I want to perform umrah first next January. And well, who knows? Maybe if I'm being laid off, the severance pay will be pretty good.
So, I haven't really been actively applying for jobs or pushing myself too hard to find a new one. And yet, somehow, the interview invitations keep coming.
What amazes me the most is that today, one company invited me for an interview even though I don't remember ever applying there. When I asked the recruiter, they told me that I had been recommended by one of their sister companies, which had processed my application back in late 2024. Things had actually gotten pretty far back then, and I was almost there, but for one reason or another, it didn't work out.
Wow. I mean, wow. What a timing.
It's like, somehow, Allah keeps opening doors for me when I least expect it.
Well, eventhough I didn't specifically prayed for a new job, but in every final sujood of my prayers, I actually always recite:
"Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqir." (QS 28 Verse 24)
Which means:
"My Lord, truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow upon me."
See.. now I'm being showered with opportunities.
So maybe, He's already answering my dua in ways I never expected. 🤍
