Aletheia's Vault of Unspoken Thoughts

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Bad day doesn't exist on the calendar.

I was hit by multiple unfortunate things today.
Or should I just say, these are just another test?

The situation at the office today was crazy and chaotic.

The news about the layoffs has reached pretty much everyone, including external parties like our business partners. And what's annoying is that our management has not given any proper explanation to all the employees, so we're left to speculate by ourselves.
What started as small conspiration theories among a few people has now spread everywhere. It's now becoming a collective concern.

And somehow, I was caught in the middle of it.

There was an employee who asked me earlier whether his name was on the layoff list.
And I answered, "Yeah, I don't know either. I haven't received any information about it."

And somehow, that one sentence from me reached someone senior in other department, who then complained to my manager. I was scolded by my manager because apparently,
in a sensitive time like this, it's not appropriate to joke around.

Okay, I'll take it. Even though I wasn't joking, whatever.
Because it's easier to take the blame and be the scapegoat they all need.

I understand that people want clarity, but since they haven't gotten any from senior management, they easily take any words from someone in HR seriously.

So yes, there's that.

Then, my travel agent for Umrah informed me that, apparently, I can't leave according to the schedule I had planned. I have to reschedule again. And it's not that simple, because my job doesn't allow me to leave in the middle of the month. And the next available date is still at the end of January 2027.

It's like I have to wait another four months.
I was already so ready to leave at the end of this month! :(

And then, to top it all off, I fell from a motorbike on my way home from the office tonight.

There was this guy who opened the left-side door to get off from a car, and the door hit the motorbike I was riding on. It pushed us a little, and we ended up falling to the left and hit the pavement. There was no bleeding, but my knee, my hand, and my lower back are all hurting now. I'm having trouble standing straight and walking. Even sitting is uncomfortable.

So basically, today is not my day.
But still, I have to be grateful for everything that happened to me.

A test is just a test

This is an exercise for me to keep having good thoughts about God's plan.

I was blamed earlier?

Okay. Now I know that this kind of interaction can backfire if I'm not careful.
Maybe next time, I just need to limit my interactions or be more diplomatic.

My Umrah at the end of October got cancelled?

Well, look around.

There's a chance I could go in February, during Ramadan. And maybe that's even more beneficial if I get the chance to worship in the Holy Land during Ramadan, when the rewards are multiplied.

And now my body hurts like hell, I can't even fall asleep so I'm writing this instead?

Well, I got an extra rest day tomorrow :)

Maybe all of this is just another reminder that not everything that feels like a disaster,
is actually a disaster.

Sometimes, it is a blessing in disguise.

I just have to get through it, learn from it, and keep trusting that Allah knows best.
